Pratkompis – Terms of Use
Effective date: 2026-11-01
Version: 1.0
These terms are the agreement between you and Venusoft AB (org. no. 559395-7565, Kavallerivägen 2C, 174 58 Sundbyberg, Sweden) ("we", "us"; tata2026@tutamail.com), about your use of the app Pratkompis – prata svenska. By using the app you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
If you download the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; if these terms and Apple's EULA conflict, these terms apply to the extent the EULA allows.
1. What Pratkompis is
Pratkompis is a speaking-practice app for adults learning Swedish. You talk with an AI companion, get gentle corrections, and review what you learned. It is a practice tool. It is not a school, a certified course or an official test, and it does not replace teaching such as SFI.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. The companion is an open AI conversation without a separate moderation step, and the AI provider requires extra safeguards for services used by minors, so we do not offer the app to anyone under 18.
3. Free use and the free week
- When you start your first conversation you get a free week with full access. There is one free week per phone: reinstalling the app or using "Radera all data" does not start a new one. You do not need to give any payment details. It is not a subscription trial: it ends by itself and never turns into a paid plan.
- After that, you can keep practising for free with a small weekly allowance of conversation minutes, shown in the app.
- Review, vocabulary and other features that run on your phone are free.
4. Subscriptions
Plans. Pratkompis Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or annual, bought through the App Store or Google Play. The price, including VAT, is always shown in the app and by the store before you buy.
What you get. A monthly allowance of conversation minutes (fair use), shown in the app before you buy. A minute meter in the app shows how much you have left. Unused minutes do not carry over. We may change features, but not in a way that removes the core service you paid for during a paid period.
Payment and renewal. You buy through your Apple ID or Google Play account, and Apple or Google charges you. The subscription renews automatically at the same price and for the same period unless you cancel. Apple charges within 24 hours before the end of the current period; Google charges at the start of the new period.
How to cancel. You cancel with the store, not in the app (we cannot cancel for you because we never see your payment account):
- iPhone/iPad: open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Pratkompis → Cancel Subscription. Do it at least 24 hours before the renewal date, otherwise the next period may already be charged.
- Android: open the Google Play Store → tap your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Pratkompis → Cancel subscription. You can cancel at any time before the renewal date.
After cancelling you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Price changes. If we raise the price, Apple or Google will tell you in advance and, where required by law or store rules, ask for your consent. If you do not agree you can cancel before the new price applies.
Restoring purchases. Because there is no account, your subscription is tied to your Apple ID or Google account. On a new phone, after reinstalling or after "Radera all data", open Profil → Pratkompis Pro and tap Återställ köp (Restore purchases).
5. Cancelling a purchase and refunds
Pratkompis Pro is sold through the App Store or Google Play, so Apple's or Google's rules for cancelling a purchase and for refunds apply. In the EU, Apple gives you 14 days from the purchase to cancel it.
- Apple: cancel or request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com (sign in → "Request a refund").
- Google: request a refund in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history, or via support.google.com/googleplay (Google generally allows refunds within 48 hours; after that contact us).
If you have trouble, write to tata2026@tutamail.com and we will help you. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Swedish consumer law.
6. The AI companion – please read
- Replies are generated by AI (Anthropic's Claude) and spoken with an AI voice (ElevenLabs). The companion is not a person.
- AI can be wrong. It can make grammar mistakes, give a wrong correction, misunderstand you or say something odd. Check important things – for example the wording of a job application or an official letter – with a reliable source or a teacher.
- Do not rely on the app for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
- If a reply looks wrong or inappropriate, tap "Rapportera svaret". That sends the exchange to us (without your ID) so that we can review it.
- Your phone's own speech recognition can mishear you, especially with background noise.
7. Acceptable use
Please use Pratkompis for what it is made for: practising Swedish. You agree not to:
- try to make the companion produce sexual, hateful, violent, harassing or illegal content, or content involving minors;
- use the app to harass or harm anyone, or enter other people's personal data;
- try to get around the minute limits, reset or fake the install ID or the phone code, overload, scrape or attack our server, or reverse-engineer it to use our AI access for other purposes;
- resell or commercially exploit the service or its output without our written permission.
If you break these rules we may limit or block access for the installation concerned. If that happens during a paid period because of a clear and serious breach, you are not entitled to a refund from us beyond what the law gives you.
8. Your content
What you say stays yours. You allow us and our providers to process it only to give you replies and corrections (see the Privacy Policy). The companion's replies are generated for your personal learning and you may use them freely for that.
9. Our content
The app, its design, companions, voices, texts and grammar cards belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own learning.
The built-in dictionary's word forms come from SALDO, the Kelly list and Flex by Språkbanken Text, University of Gothenburg, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0). Our adaptation of that data (selection, ordering and corrections) is available on request.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep Pratkompis available, but conversations need an internet connection and outside services (Cloudflare, Anthropic, ElevenLabs), and there may be interruptions. We may update the app and these terms. For important changes we will tell you in the app in good time; if you do not accept, you may stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
11. Liability
We provide the app with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for faults in the service as Swedish consumer law requires (including the Consumer Protection Act for digital content and services, lagen om avtal om digitalt innehåll och digitala tjänster where applicable).
Beyond that, and only to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses (for example lost income) or for decisions you make based on AI replies. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to damage caused by our gross negligence or intent, to personal injury, or to any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
12. Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting the app (and cancelling any subscription with Apple/Google). We may end the service with at least 30 days' notice in the app. If we do, we will stop subscriptions from renewing, and if you have an annual subscription we will refund the unused part on request: email tata2026@tutamail.com.
13. Law and disputes
Swedish law applies. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at tata2026@tutamail.com – we want to fix it. As a consumer you can also turn to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN), www.arn.se, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm. We follow ARN's recommendations. Disputes can otherwise be decided by a Swedish general court. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country.
